As a widow, married Rev Robert Pargiter in 1844 (Holy Trinity Church, Colombo). Had a son Robert Stott. 1845 -1876 (RSP held several senior civil servant posts, Ceylon). Rev Pargiter was principal of St John's College, Jaffna (1846-1866). Charlotte died in Chundikuli, Ceylon 1849 aged 33. Her remains are interred in a vault in front of the chancel of St John's church with a memorial plaque. Rev Pargiter remarried. Under the influence of Henry Newman changed from Methodist to Anglicanism (High Church). He became a famed Tamil linguist. Later retired as a vicar of Nuwara Eliya and later of the parish Towersey (Bucks/Oxon).He died in 1915 aged 98 in Bridport, Devon.
